The UL Chaplaincy works to meet the many and varied religious needs of a global university campus. It recognises that life at UL is a dynamic, ever-changing experience, which brings all kinds of new opportunities and challenges to students. The chaplains offer a welcoming space and supportive presence to students and staff. They promote an open and caring environment where diversity is respected. The key activities of the UL Chaplaincy team fall into 3 categories
• Support
• Worship/Spirituality
• Outreach/Volunteering
Even though Teach Fáilte, our popular drop-in centre is closed, and we are unable to provide the hospitality of a boiling kettle, we will continue to provide the hospitality of listening. Remotely, we will provide a safe space where you are welcome to share your stories of the ordinary and not so ordinary with us.
You are welcome to contact us by email or by text. Please provide your student ID when contacting us and we will follow up with you on a rotation basis. Sometimes with a student’s permission, we will put you in touch with other support services on campus.
The Contemplative Centre in the Student Square is an oasis of peace and tranquillity and will be open from 8.30 am to 4.30 pm, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. If you would like to get in touch with people of faith, contact details are available on our website.
We wish you well and encourage you to “Be kind for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.” (Plato)
